Name Change...Again?

Okay, this is my final change...I think...woo!

Thanks For Everything, Thea Schultheiss

I just wanted to point something out to all yall today. Her name is Thea, Thea, Bo-Bea (well, Thea). Her blog looks a little LIKE THIS and you will find goodness and talent in her pages. She was a winner of my Pair Of Twos giveaway a while back, and she was very gracious to post her winnings on her blog and left me a link. Then as I was looking thru her posts, I was super excited to find how talented she is!

This is her painting, that I want for my own. Pink, Bunny, what else do you need?

And cute to boot! If you know what's good for you, you'll definately go visit her blog and HER WEBSITE (I've had a little trouble with it, but maybe you'll have better luck!). She should be seen. We should all become followers of her blog and her work...and while you're at it, leave her some love, as you know how important it can be in our daily blogging!

And thank you Thea, for the all kindness and the posts - you're awesome.

Who's Tattoos

RAH!! Tattoos? Yes. I have gotten a lot of people asking permission to get my work tattooed on their person. I will always say yes, on one condition...YOU SEND ME A PICTURE!! I am flattered beyond the moon that anyone would love my work that much, and it's an honor for me to be able to see it! Here are a few of the pics I DO have, and if you're out there, with something of mine, pleeeeeeeaaase send me an email with the pics!!

This was the very first of my work tattooed on someone (I think). My husband found it randomly doing a search of my name online. I flipped out, I remember my head getting hot and being speechless - just standing there when he showed me. I was so flattered and shocked and surprised and it blew my mind.

This was the second one I was aware of, this girl might have emailed me, I'm not sure. Still shocked and flattered.

This girl contacted me recently - she gone done the whole thing! This is inspired by my Alice In Wonderland series. I think on the other arm she has "Where The Wild Things Are" which is just rad.

Some more images of the thing. (sorry, it's tiny!)

And now this. Last year at BABY TATTOOVILLEI had the pure pleasure of meeting and hanging out with HANNAH AITCHISON (waaay hot and talented tattoo artist - seen on LA Ink). She has the biggest, bluest eyes you'll ever see, and she's way super cool. Anyway, she had gone into work one day in Chicago (during the LA Ink break) and her co worker there was working on this one!! I flew thru the roof, so excited!

I lost some photos of a girl who had gotten a piece of mine tattooed on her ribs - it took up the entire side of her tiny body, and I have somehow blown it with those pics.

This is the image, and hers looked great too!

Here's to all the ladies (and gentlemen) who have guts to do this, thank you! I'm flattered!! You have my permission and blessing, but please send me pics! I love you!

Baby Kokeshis

I found this project in a Mary Engelbreit Home Companion magazine a couple years ago and fell in love. I've always wanted to make my own, but never got around to it! Finally, here they are, and I love them! It's soo super easy, and such a delicious looking delight!

For my 5 Pay It Forwards, this is what they got in the mail!! Home-made strawberries (with jingle bells inside!), some candies and gum, and a baby Kokeshi doll! I wrapped em in cupcake papers, in a matchbox with vintage wrapping paper glued to the outside and finished with a bright orange yarn bow! So easy and so fun to do!

Thanks to those of you who played Pay It Forward, thanks to those of you who have visited my blog and left feedback and insight! Have a wonderful Sunday!

Farrah

Farrah Fawcett died today...

Growing up in the 70's and 80's was so good. Especially with a mom who loved being a girl, and loved girls who loved being girls. The clothes, the hair, the makeup - it seemed to be of bigger importance back then, in movies and tv. Well, my mom was a big fan of it all - the bigger the hair, the better - the bigger the eyelashes - forget about it! My mom was everything to me and my siblings, and when she passed away in March of last year, our worlds came crashing down. Every day I miss her, tremendously, and every day I wish I could feel like I did before. With her here, our lives were so good. Even when they were bad, they were so good.

Well, anyway, my mom (Vicki) was a big fan of Farrah Fawcett, and naturally, so was I. They were the same age, they had the same hair, and I always thought, the same nose. There has always been a direct affiliation for me, between my mom and Farrah, and so today, naturally, I'm feeling pretty awful.

I feel like that life, that once was so happy and so innocent, is getting farther and farther away ~ slipping away like a dream when you wake up.

So with all these girls, somehow, I celebrate Farrah...and my mom.

Hello Monday!

Here is Alice In Wonderland by Mary Blair. I got this at Half.com, and was super excited when it came in the mail yesterday!! I got the Cinderella book for my sister (she loves C) and it's just as wonderful.

Inside!

And, this. Rudolf The Red Nosed Reindeer! This was a shocking find at the used bookstore, as they didn't really have anything good in the children's books. This is quite a find, I love the illustrations inside:

It's weird, it says it was written for Montgomery Ward, I don't know what that means. Maybe like a Christmas promotion? A few years ago, J. Otto Seibold did a promotion for Nordstrom's Christmas, and I was in Heaven.

Here, more.

Alice In Wonderland Pop Up by J. Otto Seibold arrived in the mail the other day! You should see this thing!

Yikes, it's so good.

One Bailey's Tea Cup/Creamer from the Friff Store, $1.99

Magnetic wooden letters from Michaels. So Good...

My first Ugly Folk Tales; "Mermaidboy And The Tuna" is slowly coming together.

And this crown from Michaels.

I went to the "Friff Store" Friday with a silly little boy - we were looking for inspiration for the summer events we have planned. We came away with some out-of-sight finds, we think, and some other pieces from Michaels and Half.com. I don't know what I would do without these outlets, these junk stores. They're priceless in this world.

And something disgusting happened the other day when we were taking a walk around the neighborhood. My husband and I were walking under a big ol pine tree, when we heard something weird fall from it RIGHT as we stepped out from under it. We look back, and this huge hawk swoops down and flies up to the roof across the street. He sits there giving us the stink-eye, and as we look down at what almost landed on my head, we see a flippin head. A flippin rat's head!!! Bloody and ripped off!! What the hell???? The sound it made when it hit the street was horrible, and thinking that that might have hit me on the head, I would've freaked!!! And probably been knocked a good one, knowing how heavy it sounded!! Pretty gross? Yes, pretty gross. The hawk came back and picked it up after we walked away, and he and his lady friend flew away with their scrumptious dinner.

Super disgusting. Has anyone ever been knocked out by a rat's head? That's my question for today.
